With the world being in an uninterrupted economic downturn, Silicon Power wants to capitalize on the budget-constrained users and launches the T10 SSD, on its official website. This is a SATA II drive and comes in 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB capacities.

Considering that our most “illuminated” minds seem to only be able to make things worse on a global scale, smart IT companies take the upgrade market seriously and want to take advantage of those less fortunate that can’t afford a complete system upgrade.

Most of today’s SSDs have the capability to achieve read speeds of over 500 MB/s, at least theoretically. But there is no point in sticking such a fast SSD inside an older system that only supports SATA II.

Older computer systems with SATA I and SATA II mainboards can really benefit from a SSD upgrade, but the prohibitive prices of today’s SATA III SSDs make the deal less appealing than it should be.

Silicon Power moves in to fill this market gap and offers an affordable SATA II SSD with a read speed of up to 278 MB/s.

Here are the official features:

- Excellent transmission performance and stability. - Support TRIM Command, write-in function increased. - Available capacities: 32GB/64GB/128GB/256GB -Compatible SATA I and SATA II interfaces and conforms 2.5”SATA interface (SATA SSD) - DDR2 DRAM Cache memory implementation to enhance T10’s reading performances and lifespan - Built-in ECC error correcting code to guarantee data reliability. - Super high speed transmission speed Wear-Leveling technology to extend its lifespan - Compliant with European RoHS requirement, meeting the green environment trend - Low power consumption and vibration proof - Noiseless operation, no latency delay and no seek error - 3-year Warranty   And here are the manufacturer’s specifications:

- Dimensions: 100mm x 69.85mm x 9.4mm - Weight: 64g - 77g - Durability: 10,000 insertions - Operating voltage: 5V +/- 5% -Vibration resistance test: 20G peak-to-peak max - Shock resistance test: 1500G Max - Transmission rate: Maximum read rate 278 MB/s

Considering the fact that Silicon Power emphasizes on affordability, we find it strange that the company has not made public the price of the drives.
