As photography standards rise, professionals always look for better cameras and, consequently, memory cards fast enough to cope with the quality of the shots and the speed at which they are taken, and Silicon Power has just addressed this need by unveiling a Class10 SDHC of 32GB.

According to the hardware maker, the 32GB of memory that the card possesses allow for the storing of over 10,000 individual photos.

The same storage space can be used to record about 12 hours of video in a resolution of 1,440 x 1,080 pixels (6Mbps).

The latter capability is available because of the read/write speed that the SDHC boasts, namely 10 MB/s.

The 32GB capacity is the highest one that the compliance with SD3.0 specifications, set by the SD Association, allows, and the transfer speed is 1.6 faster than that of Class6 SDHC cards.

All in all, the capabilities of this newcomer are quite noteworthy, considering that the card itself is only about as large as a postage stamp and, thus, suitable for not just cameras, but other digital handheld devices as well.

“Users need not to worry about insufficient storage space or slow transfer speed,” states the official announcement.

“Silicon Power 32GB Class10 SDHC card can let you get the most out of your HD cameras and camcorders and fully enjoy your photography or video recording experiences.”

“Whether you are a photography enthusiast using a HD camcorder to capture your everyday amazing life or a professional photographer constantly shooting with continuous burst mode, Silicon Power’s 32GB Class10 SDHC card ensures you a smooth recording experience,” the release adds.

Silicon power's collection of Class10 cards includes, besides this highest-capacity, most recent model, versions with 4GB, 8GB and 16GB of storage, respectively.

Unfortunately, the official press release does not actually mention how much this new card actually costs.
