Silent Scope for iPhone Now in the App Store

Konami's mobile division has released its arcade hit title, Silent Scope, for iPhone and iPod touch. It is based on the popular arcade game originally released in 1999, and is now available in the iTunes App Store for $5.99.

According to Konami, the iPhone / iPod touch version of Silent Scope has players testing their marksmen abilities on-the-go, as they protect and defend the American First Family in one of the coolest, fast-paced rail shooters to have ever hit the iPhone. Yes, one also has to save the President of the United States, who has been abducted by terrorists. Now, is it worth the download?

The game takes full advantage of Apple’s Multi-Touch user interface, with players being able to choose from two different gameplay modes, including the Arcade Mode and the Training Mode. While the Training Mode allows new players to practice precision shooting, the Arcade Mode features three stages of gameplay for the veteran sniper: Story, Shooting Range and Time Attack, Konami explains in an official report, mentioning that the latter also permits them to change the game settings to Difficulty, Player Life and Branch Attack.

From the iTunes App Store, a fragment of the game's description goes as follows:

“The President and first family have been abducted by terrorists. You are the world’s top sniper and must defeat the terrorists and save the President and first family at all cost! Battle foes through multiple environments with intense 3D graphics. This all new version for the iPhone/iPod Touch faithfully reproduces the action and excitement from the classic arcade version!”

As noted above, Silent Scope can now be purchased for $5.99 from Apple’s App Store. The title is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch and requires the 2.0 Software Update.
