Back in last year's December, the news broke that musician Morrissey was auctioning off a signed hardback copy of his “Autobiography.”

The book was being auctioned on eBay and, by the looks of it, somebody proved willing to pay a whopping ₤8,300 (€9,996 / $13,601) for it. At this hefty price, I sure hope it's a good read.

According to Look to the Stars, Morrissey has no intention of keeping any of the money raised at this auction for himself.

On the contrary, the money is all going to green group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), and will serve as funds for the organization's anti-animal cruelty campaigns.

“Animals in dire need of help have no better friend than Morrissey. Whether it’s cruelty to cows, chickens and pigs headed for the table, animals being made into boots and coats or other abuse, Morrissey speaks out forcefully,” animal rights activist Mimi Bekhechi said in a statement.

Furthermore, “The proceeds from his signed autobiography add to the work of this true hero to animals.”
