Online petition asks American citizens to save the country's wild horses Enlarge picture - Online petition asks American citizens to save the country's wild horses
An online petition now asks that concerned citizens show their support for America's wild horses and help keep them safe from threats such as the expansion of agricultural lands and cattle farms.

The people behind this petition argue that, as of recently, the US government decided that the best way to expand agricultural and ranching areas was to chase these animals out of their natural habitats and control their population.

Those who keep these animals very close at heart explain that, while being rounded up with the help of helicopters and equestrians, the animals suffer both physical and psychological damage.

“The government is supposed to be protecting wild horses, but instead they use helicopters to round them up and send them to holding facilities,” reads this appeal to American citizens.

Apparently, once these facilities become too crowded, the animals are killed, so as to accommodate for the newcomers.

Those wishing to sign the petition can do so here.

The plight of mustangs and burros is a hidden tragedy - Americans do not realize what is taken from them and how cruelly. The footage of recent stampedes is shocking, the hasty gathers speak volumes of destruction and despair. Tax payers are funding this atrocity, under the guise of "management". Wild horses are fine on the range, where they enhance the eco-system. Their evolution is here, and they positively contribute to soils, plants, animals and people. Government has too long targeted for elimination and wrongfully blamed them for damage caused by cattle. The negative schemes must be exposed. Read Craig Downer's compelling book: "The Wild Horse Conspiracy". It will * your mind on the true story of the West and how the Fed's destroy this heritage in a cleverly deceptive agenda.

I am sickened by my recent education about what the government is doing to our beloved horses and with Tax dollars. I don't think we should have to beg to have this ended. The majority of people want the abuse and outright savage treatment of these horses stopped. Everyone involved needs to be help accountable for the abuse of America's horses! and where are the horses that have disappeared? Truly this is absolute incompetence or ignorance - neither is acceptable.

The Bureau of Land Management has been destroying our wild horses for years, and they now stampede them with helicopters, killing foals, mares and stallions. This is a blight on this country, and is sadistic, barbaric and outrageous. Our government can no longer be trusted to do the right thing or to have ethics. What is done to our horses is beyond heinous, and taxpaying Americans are paying the salaries of these heathens who are destroying horses who are our American heritage.

The government's dishonest extermination program is surely a crime against the horses and the American People. The BLM is a rogue agency, hell-bent on the elimination of our wild horses for the benefit of industry. All participants in this crime should be prosecuted.

America's wild horses and burros belong to the PEOPLE of the USA, not to the BLM. Horrible decisions by consciousless BLM bureaucrats are wiping out our few remaining wild horse herds, for no good reason. Study and study shows that wild equines make a positive contribution to the environmental health of our public lands- as opposed to the irreversable damage that is done by grazing beef cattle that are allowed to replace the wild horses. The extermination of America's wild horses needs to STOP!

Yes, it is a shame how our magnificent, "returned native" horses in the wild have been cheated out of their legal areas on BLM and USFS lands. This has been due to the complicity of various exploiters of the public lands, especially public lands ranchers, and our government officials, who have taken the proverbial primrose path of temptation and dishonor. All this must be reversed. These animals are such natural healers. They deserve their place and restore so much that has been lost to America.

These magnificent horses are being brutally rounded up, suffering horrific injuries, pregnant mares dropping foals on the run, newborns only days old sloughing their hooves trying to keep up with their stampeding moms chased by helicopters..held in corrals and feedlots waiting to be transported by trucks into canada and mexico, without rest, water or food for up to 72 hours or longer..are then unloaded a the canadian and mexican slaughter horror houses where they are again brutalized...these horses are symbols of US history..where would the US be without their service during the World Wars, when settlers traversed and built the USA?
This barbaric exploitation of wild horses for the sole purpose of private agenda, forcing them of their legislated protected grazing lands is hypocritical, deplorable and unforgiveable. Let the cattle barons grow heir own feed instead of encroaching on lands designated by law for the sole ue of wild horses and burros. Everyone needs to open their eyes, spit out the poisonous propagand of the BLM and all pro-slaughter supporters.

Those of us who read the Bible know how special God's horses are to His heart....He speaks of them with Divine Love and Poetric thought....the BLM is doing evil to the horses, but one day, they will be in anguish for the crimes that they did on earth to God's most noble of creatures.

The government is as evil as they were to Native Americans...leave the free, FREE! White shirts and ties know nothing but greed. This is why I don't vote, they're all liars, they all care about nothing but what lines their pockets. They use my tax money to do wrong, it must be stopped! Pipe lines, mining..etc... equals GREED!

We as Americans a long time ago made the Costitution, and WE make the rules that run through Congress, we really shouldn't have to plead and beg the Government we created to have this stop. I can't believe I am "paying" to have mustangs rounded up and killed/have their freedom stripped from them. If we can be free, why can't they??
