Japanese optics manufacturer, Sigma, is well known for their high-quality lenses that offer a great alternative to the more expensive Canon and Nikon lenses.

Recently, Sigma warned owners of the new Nikon D5300 camera of some compatibility issues regarding all their lenses that incorporate an internal motor (HSM lenses), which was eventually solved through a small firmware upgrade that was made available via Sigma Optimization Pro.

According to SigmaRumors, the Nippon manufacturer is about to offer another firmware update for some of their lenses regarding a small issue encountered with Nikon's Df digital SLR.

It seems that this issue causes an autofocus problem for a few fisheye and macro Sigma lenses when mounted on a Nikon Df camera body.

There are a total of 7 Sigma lenses affected by this issue: 8mm f/3.5 EX DG CIRCULAR FISHEYE, 15mm f/2.8 EX DG DIAGONAL FISHEYE, 20mm f/1.8 EX DG ASPHERICAL RF, 24mm f/1.8 EX DG ASPHERICAL MACRO, 28mm f/1.8 EX DG ASPHERICAL MACRO, 50mm f/2.8 EX DG MACRO, 70mm f/2.8 EX DG MACRO.

If you own one of the aforementioned lenses and recently bought a Nikon Df camera, you will be able to update your lens firmware via Sigma Optimization Pro using the dedicated USB Dock sold by the Japanese giant.

After connecting your lens with the USB Dock, the Sigma Optimization Pro app will automatically detect if any new firmware is available for your lens and update it as necessary.

If you don't own a Sigma USB Dock, you should contact your nearest authorized Sigma distributor to upgrade your lens firmware. Stay tuned as we will post a download link for the new firmware as soon as it gets published on Sigma's support page.
