Sigma offers a wide range of high-quality optics for both APS-C and full-frame format cameras that sometimes manage to surpass similar lenses from more popular brands like Nikon or Canon.

Today, the Nippon camera and optics manufacturer announced that the popular 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM lens would also be made for Sony A-mount and Pentax K-mount APS-C digital SLR cameras.

Previously, the optic was available only for Nikon, Canon, and Sigma mounts, but due to high customer demand, the company decided to include Sony and Pentax as available mounts.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM's construction features 9 elements in 8 groups with one aspherical glass element to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to a minimum. The lens also features a 62mm filter thread size, 9 blades rounded diaphragm, and 30cm minimum focusing distance.

The lens will probably come with the same price as the current Canon, Nikon, and Sigma mounts ($499 / €366), but nothing was mentioned about its launch date.
