Sierra Offers World in Conflict Free for Two Weeks

- The best RTS title of 2007 is free to try now

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

The "Best Strategy Game of 2007" award winner World in Conflict is one step closer to your personal computer if you don't own the game already, since Sierra Entertainment
in now offering a completely free of charge two-weeks trial for the game. Yes, it is no mistake: not 60 minutes, not 3 uses, but a full, 14 days WiC experience, for free.

Since we're talking about quite some days here and everybody could actually finish the game within this time limit, there are some limitations: only the multiplayer part of World in Conflict is available but you shouldn't be sad, since it is really more fun to play the game against your friends than the AI. I am just curious if the tutorial is included or you'll have to jump straight on the battlefield and see how everybody calls you n00b.

However, even though the single player option is totally missing from this two weeks trial, the multiplayer comes with no limitations: all the maps, modes, weapons, and features available in the full game are available in the trial, too. Also, Sierra organizes regular contests during this "trial period" and some lucky fellows can win the complete game – you could be one of these persons if you decide to check World in Conflict's official website.

WiC is a real time strategy game like no other, that asks one simple question: What if? What if the Cold War didn't end, what if more weapons were build and so on. It also features an innovative gameplay mechanism that removes traditional resource-gathering and base-building in favor of non-stop combat, tactical decisions and FPS-like intense action. And it does everything the way it should be done, if we have in mind that this is The Strategy game of 2007.

If you'd like to know more about the game and see how much fun we had playing it, go check Softpedia's World in Conflict review.
