Sienna Miller has all sorts of strange ideas lately – and I deliberately included dating Rhys Ifans in that category. Sometimes I wonder where she gets them all from – probably an after-effect of too much booze and partying till dawn with her new man. Otherwise it can't be explained why the 25-year-old actress – who has been desperate to get into the spotlight for more than just dating Jude Law and drinking till she drops every time she is offered the chance – claims that she would love to land a part in the long-running BBC TV series EastEnders.
Maybe
somebody told Sienna that it is fashionable to turn real-life experiences into sources of artistic inspiration – only either she didn't understand what that actually means or she's decided to add a twist to it and do it the other way around. Miller plays a soap star in her new movie "Interview" and is apparently keen to experience first hand the life and troubles of a true soap star, and for that she reportedly stated she would turn her back on the glitz and glamour of Hollywood to take on a role in the soap which depicts the life of the working class residents of Albert Square in London.
"I haven't been in England for a long time so I'm not too sure about what soap I would like to be in" she said. "I like 'Sex and the City' but that's not English, but I have been spending more time in America recently. I like 'EastEnders', well, I used to like 'EastEnders'. I would love to have a pint in the Queen Vic pub!"
Yes, well, I told you, ultimately it is all about the booze. You see, it's a vicious circle: if Sienna wasn't in the well-documented habit of engaging in all sorts of...well, not so lady-like behaviors while under the influence, I could say that her "pint in the pub" interest was just sheer curiosity. Not the case, I'm afraid. And if Sienna were a bit more relaxed about trying to impress and a bit more keen on being herself (which, by the way, many of us truly appreciate) we could very well believe EastEnders to be a genuine interest and not a media stunt.
The actress insists her role in "Interview" came easily to her, because she is used to being more famous for her off screen exploits than for her work. Sienna – whose character, Katya, has a colorful private life in the film – said: "I'm really proud of this film, and it's nice to be asked about work and not other stuff". Now, you see, sincerity sometimes can make you look good. Why don't you try for a bit more of that in the future, and things might just turn out OK – as long as there's no alcohol involved. What do you think?
