Not many people like Sienna Miller. That's a fact. Excepting her fans, the actress is highly ridiculed by the media (meaning, the tabloids) and the blogosphere and, honestly, her comments are not making things easier for her.
A while ago, the actress said that her part as Edie Sedgwick in the 'Factory Girl' drama required her to make a couple of sacrifices on a personal level too. Playing a woman who overdosed at 28 on barbiturates, also known for suffering from depression and bulimia, was a hard thing for Sienna to do, as she had to lose weight very rapidly and to get that ghastly appearance as quickly as possible.
So, instead of starving herself, Miller switched from drinking wine at her meals to having a shot of vodka. That way, she lost the extra pounds and also got that look that she needed to make her character more convincing.
In a recent interview, the 'Alfie' star fought back at the claims that she is a heavy drinker, saying that she basically grew up with alcohol, which made her very responsible around it. 'I was brought up in a culture where, when you're 12 years old, you're given a glass of wine at dinner - it was never a novelty', Sienna said, going on to recall those times when she accompanied her parents at cocktail parties.
'I grew up being put to sleep upstairs in a spare room, and you're sort of half awake and you can hear the laughing and smell cigarettes and booze, and then they carry you home and you pretend to be asleep. You can smell wine and cigarettes on their breath. That's like mother's milk to me', she concluded by saying.
Meanwhile, critics are willing to overlook her party ways and her outrageous public behavior, as the Oscar buzz around her performance in 'Factory Girl' is getting stronger by the day, various media outlets inform.
