Siemens, the giant of German electronics, is still negotiating with several producers interested in taking over the cell phone division. Siemens wants step out of the cell phone production business because in the last time, the company has recorded heavy losses, their phones losing grounds to the competitors' models.

Siemens spokesmen announced that for now, no agreement has been reached, and the company that was interested in the acquisition of the production lines has withdrawn its offer.

In yesterday's issue of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung it was announced that the American producer Motorola might be the one responsible for the withdrawal of the offer and no other company has shown its interest in Siemens's division. The same representatives refused to make any comment about the speculations from the German press.

Currently, the losses announced by Siemens for the cell phone segment have reached 1.5 million Euros a day, and in the first three months of the year, the company succeeded the negative performance of having negative residues of 138 million Euros.

In the second quarter of last year, Siemens shipped 9,3 million units which represents a significant decrease compared to the 12.8 million from a year before.
