Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft has recently announced the expansion of its well-known PC gaming peripheral lineup, titled SideWinder, with the introduction of the new SideWinder X3 mouse, which has been specifically designed to allow both left-handed and right-handed gaming users to experience today's gaming applications using a high-quality product. In addition to a number of unique and useful features, the X3 Mouse has also been designed as an affordable alternative to competitive products currently available on the market.

“Our research shows that in-game comfort continues to be the main consideration for PC gamers,” said Bill Jukes, product marketing manager for Microsoft Hardware. “We designed this mouse to be ambidextrous and small in size, providing comfort to a wider variety of people and making it ideal for gaming as well as everyday use.”

Microsoft has managed to create a recognizable brand with its SideWinder line of gaming peripherals, releasing products such as the SideWinder X6 keyboard or the SideWinder X5 gaming mouse. The latest addition to the lineup, the X3 mouse, takes advantage of the company's experience in the field and comes in the form of an eight-button, ambidextrous mouse that delivers unique gaming features, such as 5 programmable main buttons, On-the-Fly DPI switching, macros and a 2000 DPI laser tracking engine. Additional features include the Microsoft IntelliPoint software, designed to allow users to assign macros and customize the features of the mouse.

Due to its overall design, the new SideWinder X3 can easily be considered as a noteworthy alternative to other gaming mice from competitors such as Logitech or Razer. In addition, the software giant has announced that the mouse will be available in May for an estimated retail price tag of $39.95, consequently making the SideWinder X3 one of the most affordable gaming mice on the market.
