14 DAY TRIAL // Finnish studio Rovio Entertainment has released another blockbuster (literally) in the Angry Birds series of video games for mobiles, this time enticing iDevice owners with a side-scrolling experience and intense firepower.
Released just now for iOS platforms, Angry Birds Transformers is the latest addition to the franchise. Instead of the slingshot-based gameplay we’ve all become accustomed to, this one is a side-scroller based in a ‘90s-style Transformers universe with lots of shooting involved.
Some design elements from the original Angry Birds game are still there, including the ability to burst the nefarious green pigs like balloons, as well as to send blocks of concrete, glass, and wood tumbling over them for complete annihilation.
“Angry Birds and Transformers collide in this action-packed, 3D shoot ‘em up adventure! The EggSpark has transformed the eggs into crazed robots who are destroying Piggy Island, but who can stop them?! Autobirds, ROLL OUT!” reads the description.
Players will collect a roster of heroes and villains (each with their unique abilities), as well as vehicles, upgradable weapons, and more. The game has a two-bot assault mode where you can borrow a friend’s character in your crusade and unleash some serious havoc.
