Shuttle has announced the launch of its first Mini-PC-Barebone designed for Intel processors, to mix excellence and high-end performance with a sophisticated design. Dedicated to
the worldwide professionals, the Shuttle barebone systems have been repeatedly awarded.
The Mini-PC-Barebone system can accommodate two video cards to be linked for achieving performance boosts. The XPC Barebone SX38P2 Pro comes with a highly-efficient 450 watt power supply with 80 PLUS certification, which ensures that the two PCI-Express graphics cards as well as the CPU get enough power for smooth operation.
"Gamers appreciate the high frame rates with two graphics cards and professional users enjoy the benefit of up to four monitors," explained Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. "Together with Intel Core 2 Quad CPUs with four cores and up to 8 GB DDR2 memories, this Mini-PC can achieve extremely fast speeds."
Intel's X38 chipset supports up to two PCI-Express x 16 cards while providing an amazing bandwidth transfer of up to 16 GB/s, twice as much as the previous PCI-Express specifications. The PCI-Express 2.0 support will make it easy for the user to upgrade to a next-generation of video cards. X38 natively supports the new 45-nanometer CPU architecture from Intel, which allows the users to take advantage of improved performance and increased energy efficiency.
The XPC Barebone SX38P2 Pro can host up to three internal SATA hard drives. Should additional storage space be needed, the user can connect two more eSATA external drives through the real panel ports.
The system also comes with a realistic, 8-Channel HD-Sound, certified by Dolby Digital Live! and the DTS Connect. The sound card allows the audio signal to be transferred losslessly via optical or electric SPDIF links.
The Shuttle XPC Barebone SX38P2 Pro is available now through the retailers' stores at a recommended price of $499.
