Shuttle has just announced that it has expanded its portfolio of XPC barebones with the addition of the new SX58H7 Pro that can house Intel six-core LGA 1366 processors as well as dual slot graphics cards inside its elegant black aluminum chassis.

The SX58H7 Pro features pretty much the same dimensions as the rest of Shuttle's XPC barebone lineup, but it comes configured with an X58 motherboard that is compatible with all of Intel's LGA 1366 processors, including the top of the line Core i7-990X.

The heat produced by the CPU is handled by two heatpipe cooling systems which are paired with a cooling fan that sits at the back of the system.

In addition to Intel's CPUs, the SX58H7 Pro has also room for two PCI Express x16 single slot graphics cards (or one double slot GPU), and Shuttle has also added a separate Mini-PCIe-x1 slot.

This can be used for installing a WLAN card, and is placed right near the four DDR3 sockets (with tri-channel memory support).

Other features include, two internal SATA 6Gbps ports, a pair of USB 3.0 front panel connectors, three eSATA ports (two on the back and one on the front), dual Gigabit Ethernet networking ports and an external eSATA power plug.

According to Shuttle, the 80PLUS-certified 500W power supply unit installed inside the SX58H7 Pro can power an Intel 6-core processor, 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, one or two modern graphics cards and three storage drives.

“The technical possibilities offered here within a space measuring just 32.6 x 20.8 x 18.9 cm are simply astounding,” states Tom Seiffert, head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH.

“Although we'd be hard pushed to win an energy-saving competition with the SX58H7 Pro, in the performance per cm³ category this PC is streets ahead of its rivals.”

The XPC Barebone SX58H7 Pro is available right now for a recommended retail price of EUR 444 (excluding VAT).
