The all-in-one PC market has certainly benefited from performances and features of low-power Atom processors, if we consider the high number of systems that has recently been launched on the said platform. On that note, it appears that yet another system makes its way on the market, coming from Shuttle Computer. Dubbed X500V, the new system boasts a thin design and has been fitted with the latest version of the OpenSuSE Linux-based operating system, which enables it to be customized with a number of open source applications, directly from the openSUSE website.

Inside the 3.6cm-thin X500V, the PC vendor has included a dual-core Atom 330 processor, clocked at the now popular 1.6GHz frequency, coupled with 1GB of DDR3 memory and a 160GB hard drive. Basically, the X500V is designed as most of the other nettops currently available on the market, providing users with support for a basic, home-computing experience.

In addition, the system has been featured with a 15.6-inch touchscreen monitor, which can provide a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and an integrated 1.3MP webcam. The X500V also comes with a built-in card reader, microphone and stereo speakers, while the connectivity options are also pretty generous.

According to Shuttle, the X500V will provide its users with a high-performance Gigabit Ethernet port, a wireless 802.11 Draft-N, six-channel audio, a VGA output and no less than five USB ports. Thanks to the VESA mount design, the system can be fitted to monitor arms or wall Brackets, while a Kensington Lock is in place to provide the necessary security and protection for the user's digital content.

The X500V is reportedly available in the UK in both black and white variants, coming with a price tag of 511 Euros or approximately US$752. There's no word on when the all-in-one PC will become available in the U.S.
