Announced in the middle of February of this year, Shuttle's SH67H3 Sandy Bridge barebone system have now started shipping featuring a revised motherboard design that packs the B3 version of the Cougar Point chipset.

The XPC SH67H3 barebone is compatible with a wide range of Sandy Bridge CPUs from the Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 product families.

Despite its small size, the unit can house a fully-fledged desktop system and can accommodate a maximum of two 3.5-inch drives and one 5.35-inch drive.

Furthermore, the SH67H3 also comes with four DIMM slots, offers dual SATA 6 Gbps and a pair of SATA 3 Gbps ports as well as HDMI and DVI-I graphics outputs.

These are driven by the Sandy Bridge on-die GPU via the Intel H67 B3 Express chipset, but users can also opt for installing a dual-slot PCI Express x16 graphics card, which is going to be powered by a 300W 80-PLUS certified power supply unit.

Other expansion options include a PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slot (only available when single-slot GPUs are installed) and a mini-PCIe port, which can be used for adding a Wi-Fi card or a mSATA SSD to the system.

Moving to the back of Shuttle's SH67H3 barebone, we find six USB ports, two of them are USB 3.0, an eSATA port, 7.1-channel audio, DVI and HDMI video outputs, as well as a Gigabit Ethernet port.

Two additional USB 3.0 ports, and an eSATA/USB combo connector, are placed on the front panel.

All the required cables come pre-assembled to reduce the time required to build the system and the CPU is cooled by a specially designed heatpipe assembly that is shipped together with the barebone.

The Shuttle XPC SH67H3 should be available for purchase soon and its price has been set at EUR 239.00, excluding VAT.
