Shuttle, a well-known computer system builder, has recently announced the availability of a new liquid-cooled SDXi Carbon extreme gaming solution, which was showcased earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fresh system has been designed to provide gaming enthusiasts with an alternative for a small form-factor PC that packs a lot of gaming potential, by incorporating some of the latest hardware components.

The new system can be configured with the choice for a Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz, Core 2 Quad Q2.83GHz or for a higher level of performance, with a Core 2 Extreme QX9650 3.0GHz or Core 2 Extreme QX9770 3.2GHz processor. The system can support a maximum of 16GB of DDR2 800MHz memory, while on the storage side, users can configure it to provide them with one or two high-capacity SATA hard disk drives, for a maximum of 2TB of storage.

Built on an Intel G45 and ICH10 platform, the fresh Shuttle desktop computer system can provide support for some of the latest graphics card on the market, including the GeForce GTX 285, or GeForce GTX 295 video cards from NVIDIA. A Blu-ray optical drive option is available, along with an option for an integrated 23-in-1 USB 2.0 card reader.

One of the main features of the new SDXi Carbon gaming system, designed by Shuttle, is the use of the world’s first Liquid I.C.E. technology, designed to deliver the most efficient cooling solution in an extremely small form factor system. Shuttle has built the system inside a custom painted chassis, to complete the list of high-end features available on the internal part of the product.

Price-wise, the new SDXi Carbon is available as a pre-configured solution at a starting price of $2,599, while the Liquid I.C.E. is expected to become available as an option for select Shuttle H7 series.
