The development team in charge of Super Smash Bros. is officially confirming that gamers will be able to use Shulk as a playable character for the coming fighting title, with a video released to show the range of moves that he will be able to use.

The character is the protagonist of the Xenoblade Chronicles series, and he is able to plan complex tactics and to execute them and, more importantly, is able to use the mythical sword Monado, which gives him a range of new powers.

The fact that Shulk has been officially confirmed for Super Smash Bros. probably means that the other characters that were revealed via a big leak a few days ago will also be included in the title.

Nintendo will probably continue to make official announcements in the coming months.

The Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. will be launched before the end of the year and is expected to be one of the titles that can significantly boost the sales of the Nintendo home console.

Fans of the game can first pick up the 3DS version, which arrives in the middle of September in Japan and two weeks later in both Europe and North America.

The two titles will have the same cast of characters but different mechanics and stages.
