The team at Naughty Dog does not want to create movies

The development team at Naughty Dog has not offered too many details about the actual narrative or the core gameplay mechanics of the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, but there’s one video game publisher executive who believes that the team will deliver a perfect integration of story and actual player-controlled action.

Shuhei Yoshida, the leader of the Sony Worldwide Studios, tells Gamereactor.eu that, “Movie-like games are games in the end. It's the interactivity that’s the most important thing, but the story adds to the impact of the interactivity. Games like Uncharted or The Last of Us, Naughty Dog tries very hard to not separate the storytelling for the gameplay.”

The executive emphasizes that Naughty Dog, despite its attempts to deliver cinematic quality, is not actually trying to create movies and that means that the team will continue to be preoccupied with the gameplay that players are experiencing.

Shuhei Yoshida says that he simply asked the studio to make sure that it created the best game possible on the PlayStation 4.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is designed to use all the extra computing power that’s included in the next-gen console.

The Sony leader adds, “I'm totally confident. I'd rather not want to know the games in development too much, because that ruins my experience. That's the good and bad part of my job: I have access to games so early in development and I'm not able to enjoy games like many people would.”

Naughty Dog presented a trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End during the E3 2014 trade show.

At the moment, the company is focused on putting the finishing touches on the PlayStation 4 version of The Last of Us, which is called Remastered.

The new retail package will include all the downloadable content that was launched for the game and both graphics and gameplay will be improved before the launch takes place, on July 29.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is at the moment scheduled to be released at some point in late 2015, which means that no details about the game will probably be offered for a while.

The main story will once again focus on Nathan Drake and on his travels around the globe as he tries to make sure that he saves all those close to him from a terrible fate.

Presumably, the core action adventure elements of the franchise will not be changed, but Naughty Dog will introduce some innovation in order to surprise even veterans of the franchise.
