Gamers can use them when they lack the time to race

Shuhei Yoshida, the leader of the Sony Worldwide Studios, says that the microtransactions that developer Polyphony Digital has added to Gran Turismo 6 can have positive effects for gamers as long as they are used right.

He states via Twitter that, “microtransaction per se is not a bad thing, how the game is designed around it could become a problem.”

In the racing game, players will be able to get access to in-game currency using real-world money, which can in turn be used to get access to all the 1,200 cars that are included.

Sony says that the feature is only designed to help those who lack the time to grind races in the racing experience, but Forza Motorsport 5 has already attracted a lot of criticism for a similar concept and Turn 10 has modified the mechanic.
