After HBO announced back in April that it would collaborate with Apple to launch its HBO Now online movie streaming service on Apple TV and iOS devices, Showtime makes the same announcement today.

The well-known American premium satellite and cable television network has been more than proud to announce earlier that its new standalone online streaming service will be available to US users on Apple TV and iOS devices, including iPhone and iPad, starting July 12.

"This July, there will be a new way to get SHOWTIME. All you'll need is an Internet connection. Try it FREE for 30 days*, then it's just $10.99/month" is stated on Showtime's special web page announcement for the new online movie streaming service.

The service will cost $10.99 (€9.69) per month and will arrive just in time for the season premiere of the famous "Ray Donovan" and "Masters of Sex" TV shows that are distributed only on Showtime.

Just like HBO's HBO Now service, Showtime will offer one month of free movies to all new customers who enroll for its video-streaming service from Apple devices in July. And, of course, you will have unlimited access to all of Showtime's TV shows, including those that are no longer aired.

The service is simply called Showtime

Showtime's upcoming online video-streaming service will be simply called Showtime. It is a bit confusing for some, but not at all to many others. A Showtime app is already available on the App Store on iTunes, so to enjoy Showtime's TV shows, all you have to do is install the respective application on your Apple TV, iPhone, or iPad device(s).

Among some noteworthy TV shows distributed by Showtime, we can mention "Homeland," "Ray Donovan," "Dexter," "Masters of Sex," "Californication," "House of Lies," "Shameless," "The Affair," "The Real L Word," "Penny Dreadful," "Nurse Jackie," "Queer As Folk," "Episodes," "Inside Comedy," and "Weeds."
