Video game publisher Paradox Interactive has revealed three new video game projects at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, all of them set to get a digital distribution release later during 2012.

The Showdown Effect is being developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, the same development team that created the eccentric action title Magicka, and will offer a 2.5 D actin experience that is oriented towards multiplayer and will allow gamers to take part in death matches against other player made characters.

Paradox Interactive says, “Whether its character, stage, game mode, or weapons, customize as much as you want and control how creatively you want to kill your friends! Remember, the gorier it is, the better the showdown you will have!”

The Showdown Effect was initially known as Project JFK and will share the same tendency towards complex interactions between hundreds of variables that will lead to unexpected results.

Dungeonland is another game that requires more than one player to work well and is set in the world of a theme park which is based on traditional fantasy clichés.

Three players will use characters like the Rogue, the Mage and the Warrior while another will become the Game Master of the Dungeonland and will be able to deploy both traps and monsters in order to stop their advance.

The game also delivers hero customization, looting and dozens of items to use in the dungeon themed park.

RED Frontier might just be the most interesting of the titles announced at the GDC event and seems to be Paradox interactive’s own take on the MOBA genre, with players set to take part in a real time strategy game that also includes role playing elements.

Combat droids, vehicles and abilities can be used to attack enemy characters and each killed commander instantly respawns in order to fight for his team until the enemy base is destroyed.
