The developers of Shotwell have released a new version of their image editor and organizer app and recommends that everyone upgrade to Shotwell 0.11.4.

The previous version of Shotwell came with two important fixes, one related to the image import function (Shotwell uses it's own image database when editing images in order to keep the originals safe).

Shotwell no longer crashed at the end of photo imports where one or more files failed to import correctly. The other to remedy a bug that manifested itself when tags with the symbol “/” were created.

In Shotwell 0.11.4, the developers have fixed two critical issues present in all previous versions of Shotwell 0.11.x, which could cause Shotwell to crash when using the “Import from F-Spot” feature.
