Fans aren’t exactly psyched about the idea of having the “Terminator” franchise rebooted, especially after how “Salvation” turned out, but Paramount, Skydance and Annapurna are moving forward with plans for their film, believed to be called “Genesis.”

Variety reports that 5 actors will be screen-tested for the role of Kyle Reese on Monday: Boyd Holbrook, Tom Cocquerel, Wilson Bethel, Sam Reid and Jai Courtney.

Courtney recently got more media attention than the other four, after appearing with Bruce Willis in the latest “Die Hard” film. He’ll be seen next in the much hyped “Divergent.”

As fans know, Kyle Reese is an important player in the “Terminator” universe, as, in the 1984 original film, he is sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor and falls in love with her, fathering John Connor, the “savior of the future.”

So far, “Terminator: Genesis” lists Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke as leads, with a special appearance by Arnold Schwarzenegger, the original “Terminator.”

The film is directed by Alan Taylor and will be out in 2015.
