Seems like reviving old games has become a trend. After yesterday's announcement of Matrix Games regarding the revival of wargame classic Carries At War,
Konami thought of bringing back into the spotlight some of their older games.

80's classic games Salamander, TwinBee and Parodius will be brought back to Japanese gamers next January. Maybe this decision came as a result of the success registered by Konami with the revival of another 80's game, Gradius. The new version of Gradius was released as a 5 titles collection, only available on the PSP. The collection included Gradius I,II, III, IV and Gradius Gaiden.

The Salamander collection will include re-mastered versions of Salamander, Salamander 2, Xexex and Life Force along with a secret game. The Parodius collection will feature a few more games than Salamader collection, as Parodius Da!m Sexy Parodius, Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodious, Gokujou Parodius and, of course, a secret title will be included.
A secret title will also be included in the TwinBee Collection, alongside TwinBee, Deta Na!!, Pop'n TwinBee and TwinBee Yahho.

These collections will not be liked by everyone, but surely, fans of Konami 80's game will enjoy them and maybe some new gamers will also be drawn by these shooter classics.
