TIFF 2005 scheduled for Tuesday, at 20.30, "Republica" cinema theatre, the British production "9 Songs", a shocking movie with 9 sex scenes inspired by as many songs.

9 Songs, directed by Michael Winterbottom, is the story of Lisa, an American student who lives in London. She meets Matt at a Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in Brixton. The attraction is instantaneous. Their love story is passionate, tender and sexually intense. A year later, they separate forever.

The explicit film by Michael Bottom is an honest portrait of a powerful sexually charged relationship from the beginning to the inevitable end. The movie contains live images with Primal Scream, Franz Ferdinand, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Super Fury Animals, The Von Bondies, The Dandy Warholes, Elbow and Michael Nyman.

Initially Winterbottom was inspired by the acclaimed and controversial novel The Platform by the French author Michel Houellbecq.
