After the 2007 controversial “Eat Me, Drink Me,” shock rocker Marilyn Manson is gearing up for a brand new release and a new tour, a post on his official webpage informs. “The High End of Low” will drop in May, but fans of the rocker will get their first taste of the new music on March 27, when the rocker will premiere the first single off the “We Are from America” album.

Staying true to his never-ceasing quest of upending mainstream tendencies, the first single will be released as a free download on Manson’s webpage, marilynmanson.com. On April 7, “We Are from America” will also make it out as a digital single, the post further reads, and will preview what the rocker has in store for his fans with his most recent studio album.

“The album’s official first single ‘Arma… geddon’ will arrive at radio April 13th. Manson’s new lineup including Ramirez (for the first time in close to a decade), plus keyboardist Chris Vrenna, and drummer Ginger Fish, will close the main stage at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, this July through August. Manson will also headline festival run this June in Europe.” the post further reads as to Manson’s upcoming projects and plans.

“The High End of Low,” it is further being said, was recorded and produced almost exclusively in Manson’s Beverly Hills studio and is said to illustrate the changes the artist underwent in his personal life. In this sense, the album will be different from his previous work, marked as it is by a change in perspective on life and approach to music, as the rocker himself revealed a short while back.

“I think my life definitely ended and began. The record sounds very final, but it’s almost optimistic – though that feels like a strange word to use. It’s a phoenix from the fire and a redemption resurrection.” Manson says of the album suggestively called “The High End of Low.” Since we’re on the topic of suggestively titled music, the album will also include a track called “I Want to Kill You Like They Do in the Movies.”
