Roy Garber, one of the stars of A&E’s hit reality show Shipping Wars, has died. The 49-year-old entrepreneur had been having some heart problems for a while, and the heart attack he had the other day proved fatal.

TMZ reports that Garber “was rushed to a hospital in Texas after suffering a heart attack and passed away shortly after – this according to his longtime girlfriend. Sources close to the family tell us Roy had a heart condition for some time.”

A&E has issued a statement to confirm Garber’s passing, but would not reveal more details at this time. The network did stress, however, that they are “deeply saddened by the loss of a member of the A&E family.”

On the official website of the show, Roy is described as a “serious jack-of-all-trades and a major know-it-all” who had worked hard to become “one of the top earners in the country,” starting from zero.

Fans of the hit reality series have already flooded message boards with words of praise for Roy, and condolences and prayers for his family at this difficult time.
