A video that has gone viral over the last few days, while initially uploaded five months ago, shows a miscalculated ship launch failing.

According to the Huffington Post, this vessel is the "Reuben Lasker," and it was launched in Marinette, Wisconsin. It belongs to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration authority.

The event surely made a splash, with the ship sliding into the water and hosing down the cameraman.

As you can see, there are bits and pieces flying towards the camera so whoever is shooting the clip is definitely in danger.

Fortunately, the cameraman got out with only minor injuries and the ship made it to the Lake Michigan more or less in one piece.

Some unconfirmed reports have suggested that a bystander has been injured, breaking a leg in the incident.

[Update, May 6 2013]: A previous version of this article included an error which has been corrected, thanks to our readers. Lake Michigan was featured as Michigan Lake.
