Shin Megami Tensei IV is the biggest new video game launch on the Japanese market for the week that ended on May 26 and the role-playing title from Atlus has managed to take the number one position in the software chart.

Its solid sales have also improved the performance of the Nintendo 3DS handheld, which managed to move 54,710 units to gamers, according to data cited by NeoGAF, which is a significant improvement over the 37,124 of last week.

The PlayStation 3 has also seen an increase of about 3,000 units and the Vita handheld from Sony is also steadily improving its own performance, reaching 12,171 in sales, close to double the figure posted last year.

Wii U sales stand at 5,749, just above those of the older Wii.

The video game top ten consists of: Kamen Rider: Battride War, Resident Evil: Revelations, Friend Collection: New Life, Valhalla Knights 3, Terraria, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Animal Crossing: New Leaf Summon Night 5 and Resident Evil: Revelations.
