The new Brangelina baby was born with a lot of fuss and the media went crazy trying to snatch a picture of the famous couple and their daughter, Shiloh.
But Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced that the first photographs will be auctioned, sold, and the money obtained donated to charity. It was a beautiful thing for them to do. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.
People Magazine bought the pictures and their exclusive North American rights from Angelina and Brad for US$4.1 million, but before it had actually had the chance to publish them, they were already circulating for several hours on the Internet. They represented the first page of the British weekly Hello!, in which Angelina can be seen reclining on the bed, next to a smiling Brad, with her eyes fixed on the new-born baby girl. And from the looks of it, they don't seem forged at all (the pictures, I mean).
On the other hand, People Magazine still has the rights for the photographs of Nadia Comaneci (44) and Bart Conner's(48) newly-born boy that is supposed to appear soon in its pages. These were reportedly bought for the more modest sum of US$1 million.
