Even if director Michael Bay, or some other director, decides to make another “Transformers” film after the upcoming “The Dark of the Moon,” actor Shia LaBeouf will not reprise the part he’s played in the first 3 installments, he says in a new interview.

Shia has made no secret of the fact that he doesn’t plan to hang around for much longer on the “Transformers” franchise, regardless how well it’s received by fans.

After the disappointment that was “Revenge of the Fallen,” the second installment, Shia promised he’d do his best to make it up to fans.

Now that that’s done, he’s ready to move on.

“For sure, I’m not coming back to do another one. I don’t think [director, Michael Bay] will either,” LaBeouf tells MTV in a new interview cited by PopEater.

Odds are good that Bay may still return after this one (fans know the director has a habit of changing his mind, having done the same with making “Transformers 3” in 3D), but LaBeouf is adamant he is out of the project with this last one.

Nevertheless, that’s not to say this is the end of “Transformers.” Given how well the films fared with audiences, Shia has no doubts a reboot will be made some years from now.

“It still is a hot property, I think, especially coming out of the third one. So I imagine they’ll reboot it at some point with someone else,” he says.

Of course, he will go see it when it comes out.

“You have an onus in it. I’ll enjoy it. I’ll go [see it] opening night, I’ll be there. But there is a disconnect. It’s mine, dude,” the actor explains.

As for the “Transformers” that’s still to come out, Shia promises it’s the best in the series thus far, no joke about it.

“I’m dead honest, man. I get myself in trouble all the time, but this is our best installment. It’s our best movie. It’s the best action, in terms of the geography,” Shia explains.

“Transformers: The Dark of the Moon” is out in US theaters on June 29.
