The actor claims his artistic integrity has been attacked

Shia LaBeouf continues to make headlines with even more controversy. The “Transformers” actor has just announced on Twitter that he's retiring from public life, due to the attacks on his “artistic integrity.”

His tweet read “in light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life.” The 27-year-old recently came under a storm of criticism for plagiarizing his directorial debut.

Apart from ripping off other people's work, the actor also has a notorious violent streak, lashing out at anyone who crosses him. He went into bitter Twitter battles with several celebrities that spoke against him in the plagiarizing scandal.

Shia was accused of stealing lines from a graphic novella by Daniel Clowes in his directorial debut “Howard Cantour.com” without giving any credit. The similarities were obvious and LaBeouf was forced to apologize but defended his actions by saying that an integral part of the creative process was ripping off previous works.

The cherry on the cake was when it emerged that his daily apologies being plastered over Twitter were, in fact, plagiarized from other people. At the moment, it was revealed that his entire campaign was insincere and it did nothing but further add to the scandal.

He even posted a picture of a photo of a skywritten apology that said “I'm sorry Daniel Clowes,” which earned him even more rebuke. The issue there was that he chose to display the message over Hollywood, in full view of the media, and not in Clowes's home town.

After posting yet another tweet about Clowes on Wednesday, hinting that his next plagiarizing target would be “Daniel Boring,” another of Clowes' creation, a team of lawyers for the artist demanded that Shia stop “ridiculing” their client.

Now, with the plagiarizing scandal reaching an all-time high, Shia promises to quit the public life. This only raises the question if it's just another post from his mocking campaign, aimed at creating even more scandal.
