Shia LaBeouf is really determined to become “the next James Franco,” as the owner of one LA gallery says after receiving an email proposal to host the actor’s performance art show, in which visitors could either humiliate or forgive him.

The former “Transformers” star, who, incidentally, happens to be gearing up for the release of a new movie, has been making headlines for some time now for acting like a major jerk, to put it simply. He plagiarized a well-known novel in his directorial debut and then continued to shock by plagiarizing all his apologies on the topic.

As the scandal threatened to reach epic proportions, Shia said that the whole thing had been just performance art and then professed that he was “not famous anymore,” which was taken to mean that he was “retiring” from the spotlight.

Retiring is perhaps the last thing on Shia’s mind right now, The Hollywood Reporter notes, since he’s getting ready to stage a new performance art show inspired by the experience. Visitors will have Shia at their disposal, an email sent out to various galleries and obtained by the publication stresses.

The show will be called #IAMSORRY and will see visitors enter a large room with tables filled with “implements” like pliers, a ukulele, Transformers toys, whiskey, Belgian chocolates, and bowls with printed Twitter messages, most of them negative.

Visitors get to choose whatever object they want and then, go into a room with another table, at which Shia is sitting. The opposite seat is vacant, and they can remain at the table for as long as they want.

“For 7 days, Shia will sit at a table in a small, boxy room at the rear of a Los Angeles gallery. It is not clear if this is actually Shia, or an imposter. A paper bag will cover his head, emblazoned with the words ‘I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE’,” reads the email.

“It will be made clear that they can do what they please with this item. [LaBeouf] will remain silent throughout … He will be subjected to humiliation or forgiveness at the visitor’s discretion,” the text further says.

According to the letter, this will be Shia’s way of duly apologizing for the plagiarism scandal because he will be offering fans the chance to humiliate him. One gallery owner tells THR they’re very interested in hosting the show.
