Actor Shia LaBeouf has somewhat of a reputation for being the younger and less aggressive version of Russell Crowe both in terms of acting skills and of temper. Over the weekend, the actor got into a club brawl and was handcuffed by police.

TMZ was the first to break the news, stating at the same time that it wasn’t the actor who started the brawl and noting that no arrests were made because no one wanted to file a complaint.

Radar Online has a different story: the man with whom Shia got into the fight is saying he (Shia) was involved – and speaks of the actor’s bad temper when he’s had one too many drinks.

Mark Mastro says he was at the Mad Bull’s Tavern when the fight broke; in fact, he started it by provoking the actor.

Mastro tells Radar he went over to Shia to ask for an autograph and a photo for his girlfriend, who had seen him there.

“My girlfriend saw Shia, and told me. I wanted to get a picture with him so I went over to his table, sat down next to him, and told him I was a fan of his. I called him Mr. LeBeouf,” Mastro tells Radar.

“He didn’t want anything to do with me. He said he just wanted to chill and refused to do a photos. I walked away,” he adds.

While outside later that same evening, Mastro and his friend saw Shia leaving and the friend calling the star’s name, asking him “what’s up,” which is about when all hell broke loose.

“My friend said, ‘what’s up Shia?’ Shia told him to ‘get the [expletive] out of my way.’ He was slurring his words. That’s when I said to my buddy, ‘don't worry, he’s just a [expletive]-ing [expletive] anyway’,” Mastro recalls.

Hearing that, Shia turned around and attacked Mastro – and continued punching him until a police officer passing by intervened. In almost no time, several other police cars had come to the scene.

Both were put in cuffs but no arrest was made, because neither man involved in the brawl wanted to file charges against the other.

Radar also got a video of Shia LaBeouf fighting with Mastro – allegedly, because the only thing clear in it is the woman yelling “get your iPhone out!”.
