The development team at Frogwares Studios and publisher Focus Home Interactive announce that they are working on a new video games featuring Sherlock Holmes, called Crimes and Punishments.

The new game will give players more freedom to explore the internal processes as the character solves a number of cases.

There are eight new challenges to tackle in the game, with players able to directly control Holmes as he searches for clues, discovers suspects and finally figures out the motives and the perpetrators behind each crime.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is also created using the Unreal Engine 3, which means better graphics quality and environments that reflect the world that Conan Doyle imagined.

It seems that Holmes himself is abandoning his old look and is re-created using influences from the new BBC mini-series, which did much to make the character modern.
