While longtime fans of the hit soap opera “The Young and the Restless” are still waiting for CBS bosses to change their mind and just bring back Michael Muhney as Adam Newman, it’s best if they find comfort in other, smaller things – like the announcement that Shemar Moore is coming back.

The handsome actor, who appeared on the series as Malcom Winters, will be reprising the role that made him famous this season, in September. Sadly, he will only be doing so for 2 episodes, not for much longer, TV Line reports.

“This go-around, according to CBS, Malcolm will visit with the Winters family to make amends for his hasty exit and to find out what’s been going on since the last time he was in town,” the trade publication says of Shemar’s short stint.

Moore played Malcom on “Y&R” between 1994 and 2002 and returned for a short while in 2004-2005. Since then, he’s been enjoying lots of success for his role on the procedural drama “Criminal Minds.”

Still, “Y&R” will always hold a special place in his heart, or so he tells fans in a statement on the surprise appearance. “I am excited about returning to The Young and the Restless as a special guest. This is where I got my start, and I am looking forward to reuniting with my soap opera family,” the actor says.

If you’re psyched about his return to the series, don’t miss the September 10 and September 11 episodes.
