Developer Might and Delight has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming Shelter 2, due out next month on Steam.

The first game in the series put players in the shoes of a mother badger, exploring the wild and trying to shelter her younglings from harm. It was a strange game that offered a very unique experience, partly due to its artistic vision.

"Shelter 2 portraits a mother lynx and her life cycle, starting as a pregnant animal preparing her den for the coming litter, giving birth, and continuing in to a journey of parenthood where nurturing her cubs is paramount for survival," the game's Steam description reads.

Shelter 2 continues the saga of showing how all living creatures are put to the test in the wild, and how unforgiving the laws of nature are, but this time around, you'll be able to see it from the perspective of a predator.

You will have to raise your cubs and train them in the ways of hunting prey, while exploring the wild beauty of the natural environment and looking for food, water, and a place to call home.

The trailer focuses on the cute part of the game

The trailer, titled Cuteness in Shelter 2, depicts a bunch of mewling lynx cubs and only shows the bright aspects of the game. Shelter presented a unique approach to portraying loss, and Shelter 2 is bound to offer more of the same, with starvation and many other perils spelling a potentially grim fate for your cubs.

Shelter 2 offers a huge, sprawling territory to explore and hunt in, in the same patterned visual style, and a variety of moves and techniques for hunting prey.

The abstract adventure game is coming out sometime in February, for Windows PC and Mac OS X.
