Shazam, the British company that presents itself as the world's leading mobile music discovery service provider, has just announced that Vodafone Germany will be offering its new and innovative music application. Called MusicFinder with Shazam, the app will be provided along with the IVR service that many of Vodafone Germany's customers are already using.

MusicFinder with Shazam allows mobile users to quickly "capture" music, directly on their handsets. Also, they can share music and purchase tracks via the Vodafone Music Store. Shazam provides access to a huge database of more than 6 million songs, videos, and artist biographies.

The MusicFinder software can be downloaded on mobile phones from the Vodafone Live! Portal. A 30-day trial is offered by Shazam, but if you like the application and want to keep it, you can opt for an unlimited subscription that costs only 2.99 Euros per month.

Talking about the new deal with Sazam, Ralf Pluecker, head of Music Department at Vodafone Germany, said, "Offering our customers the ability to discover music as soon as they hear a song has been a fantastic offering for our music service since 2003 and we are pleased to now provide our customers with a more in-depth and enhanced music experience. With recommendations for new music, track reviews, artist biographies and the ability to purchase tracks, albums, ring-up tones and ring tones Shazam allows our customers to effortlessly capture and share their music without constraints."

Andrew Fisher, chief executive officer of Shazam, added, "Vodafone Germany customers can now instantly identify and purchase songs wherever they are, to create and share moments and memories through music. We're working with Vodafone Germany to integrate Shazam to take their customers on a unique journey of music discovery."

With almost 35 million German subscribers, Vodafone is the country's second largest mobile carrier, behind T-Mobile but ahead of E-plus and O2.
