The popular Shazam music discovery service has some new enhancements to provide to its Windows Phone 8 users, courtesy of an updated mobile client, currently available for download as version 3.5.

The new app iteration arrives on devices with the option to tag songs even when outside of the coverage area, the available release notes unveil. The application will then match when the tags when a connection is available.

Additionally, the application adds a LyricPlay feature, with real-time synced lyrics that will enable users to easily sing along. The lyrics will “scroll, jump, pop or slide as the music plays for tens of thousands of Shazam's hottest tagged tracks,” Shazam notes.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Shazam was designed to recognize music and media playing around. Users will simply need to tap the Shazam button to begin tagging as many songs as they like.
