14 DAY TRIAL // Actress and reality star Shayne Lamas, daughter of Lorenzo Lamas, is still in hospital in critical condition, after being rushed there on February 9 after collapsing in her home. In an update from her husband, he says that her heart “gave out” last Friday, on Valentine’s Day.
As we informed you at the time, after she collapsed in her Orange County home, Shayne, who, at the time, was pregnant with her and Rik’s second child, had to undergo emergency surgery as doctors struggled to determine what was wrong with her.
She lost the child and, as Rik writes on TabRag, she is still not even close to being out of the woods just yet.
“I'm still working from the ICU. This has been the toughest week of my life, but my love for Shayne Lamas has grown tremendously. My wife is a true fighter. Her heart gave out on Valentine's Day and we had to start the rehabilitation process all over again,” he writes.
“Thank you to Dr. Marquez for saving Shayne's life (again). Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers – they are working! Thank you to Dakota Pike, Lorenzo Lamas, Shawna Craig, Michele Smith, and my family for giving me the strength to get through this. Lastly, a special thank you to Shayne Lamas for not giving up. Press is his and Shayne’s first child, born in late 2011 and named Press Dahl Lamas-Richie. Just last month, the couple had confirmed to the media that they were in the process of adding another member to their family.
Shayne and Nik were married in 2010, after a brief courtship. Before Nik, she was engaged to be married to Matt Grant, the bachelor looking for love on the 12th season of The Bachelor. Shayne was on the show too and made it through to the finals, when Matt popped the question.
She said yes but, after a few months, they both realized they were not meant to be together.
