Publisher Ubisoft has confirmed that Shaun White Skateboarding will be the second video game pout out by the company that will support stereoscopic three dimensional gaming on 3D capable television sets for gaming consoles.

Patrick Naud, who is the executive producer working on Shaun White Skateboarding, has stated, “The gaming experience is very sensitive to image quality, and we know from past collaboration with Sensio that the company's Sensio 3D format delivers the highest-quality images.”

The first video game published by Ubisoft that was 3D capable was Avatar: The Game, the title which accompanied the movie of the same name that brought 3D back to theaters in a big way.

Shaun White Skateboarding will use the same Sensio 3D tech that powered Avatar had and it will work on both the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony.

The move from Ubisoft is a biut surprising considering that the Chief Executive Officer of the company once stated that 3D television sets would not become popular enough to support dedicated gaming experiences until 2011.

Studies also indicate that the spread of 3DTVs will be slower than that of HD technology.

Shaun White Skateboarding is developed by Ubisoft Montreal and will also be published on the PC and the Nintendo Wii, with those subscribing to OnLive also able to enjoy it on October 1.

The game will allow those who only watched skateboarding on television to experience the game, being created specifically for more casual gamers.

Players will be able to create a character through a customization screen and will get guidance through the single player from Shaun White himself.

One unique aspect of Shaun White Skateboarding is the shaping mechanics, which allows gamers to directly recreate some areas of the the city where they skate, allowing them to build an environment that allows them to get big air and pull interesting tricks.
