Samsung isn't the only one helping Sharp out. The latter is also in the middle of discussions whose aim is to establish a partnership with Foxconn Electronics, otherwise known as Hon Hai Precision Industry.

According to a report, Foxconn Chairman Terry Guo had to postpone the meeting with Sharp from March 5, due to Sharp's announcement of Samsung's investment which we linked to above.

The meeting will still happen though. Executives from both companies will get together in Japan to discuss mutual prospects soon.

Banks in Japan still favor the idea of Foxconn gaining control in Sharp's operations. Guo's participation in the meeting suggests that negotiations may be finally nearing the end.

The man might still have to make some concessions though. If Samsung had stayed out of things, it might have had a stronger advantage, but this is no longer the case, obviously.
