Sharp Corporation, the Japanese electronics producer, unveiled its latest Mobile TV phone, Sharp AQUOS SH905iTV. The handset will probably also go under the name of Sharp 905iSH or Sharp SH-905i, since it's a common thing for Sharp handsets to change their name this way, especially when they're mentioned in other countries than Japan.

Sharp AQUOS SH905iTV comes to enlarge the company's Mobile TV phone series and brings about the same features as the older AQUOS models, the 822SH and 920SH. The new SH905i is 18.9 mm thick and offers a high-quality ASV-LCD 3.2 inch display with a 2000:1 contrast ratio and a WVGA resolution (hence we have 800 x 480 or 854 x 480 pixels). It uses the SV engine to provide the best possible mobile TV experience, supports 1seg, Japan's mobile terrestrial digital broadcasting service, and relies on Sharp's exclusive Touch Cruiser interface.

Beside the nice TV-related specs, Sharp AQUOS SH905iTV also has advanced audio features, being one of the few mobile phones that uses the Dolby Mobile technology for a realistic, high-quality sound. Other features include 3G, 3.2 Megapixel camera with Auto focus, GPS Location, microSD/HC card support, SD Audio, NTT DoCoMo's Music, Internet Movie Player and i-Motion. The phone's battery provides a talk-time of more than 3 hours and a stand-by time of up to 540 hours.

The new Sharp handset also includes some Japanese-only features, like an English translator, Manga Comic Reader (with pre-installed Dragon Ball comics) and Machi-Chara screen companions.

Sharp AQUOS SH905iTV will be available in Japan at the end of January via NTT DoCoMo, the largest mobile operator in the country. The phone's retail price was not revealed yet, but surely it will not be an affordable one.
