Sharp SH-920 looks more like a mobile TV than a handset meant to place calls and help communication. It is, indeed, one of the most evolved cellulars out there that are capable of also providing TV support.

Mobile TV is a technology that has drawn especially the attention of the Japanese. Other continents are less interested in it, which also gives reason to the fact that this specific handset will not see a global release.

The most impressive aspect about it is certainly the display screen. At 3.2 inch in size, it proves to be larger than any other ones coming from clamshell phones. The resolution is of 480 ? 854 pixels, a contrast ratio of 2000:1 and support for up to 26 million colors. Moreover, it can be flipped over for watching videos on a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio.

The great display features are designed to suit Sharp SH-920's great TV rendering performances. There is also a 1Seg tuner with support for Electronic Programming guide for recording on SD-MMC card for later viewing. That makes the phone sound more like a regular TV set, as it is capable of providing many of its basic functions.

Moreover, it also includes HSDPA connectivity, which should manage to bring fast data transfer speeds. Connectivity is available through Bluetooth A2DP and Infrared, just to make the package complete. One disadvantage that Sharp SH-920 brings is certainly the large sizes, as it comes at 50 x 110.6 x 18mm in size and weighs 123 grams.

The handset will be available in Japan only in five colors gold, silver, black, light blue and pink, with no chances of going past this country's borders. Producers have mentioned nothing on the price that the mobile phone will come at, although it should be a pretty high one, matching its performances.
