So far we don’t know when this serious slate arrives on markets outside Japan

Looking for a tablet with a better resolution than the average bunch? You could give a chance to Sharp’s latest offering in terms of tablets

Meet the Mebius Pad (I appreciate the name doesn't have a bunch of confusing numbers attached to it), a tablet that features a 10.1-inch IGZO LCD display with a capable WQXGA resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.

Interestingly enough, the tablet’s panel manages to be denser than the iPad Air’s, that has only 264 pixels per inch as opposed to 299 pixels with the Sharp offering.

Apart from that the Mebius Pad is powered by the latest Bay Trail architecture, drawing life force form an Intel Atom Z3770 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. Sharp awards 64GB of internal storage and integrated LTE connectivity.

The default operating system is Windows 8.1 so customers will see the device ship with Microsoft Office Hom and Business 2013 out of the box.

For a 10-incher the tablet is pretty light and thin at its 595 g / 1.3 lbs and 9.5 mm / 0.3 inches. So far we don’t have a price for the product, but Sharp will start shipping the Mebius in January in Japan, so we’ll probably know until then.
