RD-CX300 holds an impressive 20 GB HDD

Sharp announced they're releasing what they call the most luxuriant dictionary ever. And I'm talking about an electronic dictionary, of course. The RD-CX300 is a sophisticated interactive bilingual dictionary (Korean&English) and language learning system that beats other multimedia dictionaries. Well, at least when it comes to the HDD capacity.

The impressive 20 GB hard drive is far more spacious than the RD-CX200's HDD, which can only store up to 2 GB of data. This will probably give you enough room for both strict learning tools like educational videos, and for storing media content like music tracks or videos. Apparently, the big HDD also makes the device bulkier and heavier than the Zaurus e-dictionaries, measuring 5.3" x 3.9" x 1.2" and weighing 12.4 ounces.

The new e- dictionary comes in a slicker design, it's slightly thicker than its predecessor and features 4.3-inch TFT 260K-color display, QWERTY keyboard and SD card slot. The screen is ideal for MPEG-4 and Windows Media Video playback support and also for controlling MP3 music or the built- in FM radio. The RD-CX300 also has a voice recorder, an e-Book reader and flash support for games and other similar software. Given that Sharp's already released the Linux-based RD-CMP2000R E-dictionary, it wouldn't be a surprise to find that this one will also hide some "penguin software".

The device will be released in Korea later this month and will cost around 500$. If you're Korean and really want to learn English, you can also take a look at Nurian Z1, which has similar features. The two will never touch the US soil since none of them supports an English user interface.
