It was time for Sharp to reveal its own Windows 8 tablet and it did so at CEATEC in Japan. The slate is called Mebius Pad and, of course, it features an IGZO 10.1-inch display.

The biggest eye catcher with the Sharp tablet is, as one might expect, the screen that features a whopping 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. The manufacturing company even provided a magnifying glass so those present at the unveiling could take a closer look at the pixels, Engadget reports.

The Mebius Pad is powered by an Intel quad-core Atom Z3370 and will ship with pre-installed Windows 8.1 plus Microsoft Office. Those wanting to upgrade to the Pro version will have to pay something extra. A Mebius Pad version will receive compatibility with Japanese carrier’s Nippon LTE bands.

Apart from the amazing screen, the new Sharp slate is both water-resistant and dust-proof, so it’s safe to use in all kinds of environments. An optional stylus is also provided in the package, so the tablet can be used for work as well.

Those interested, should keep an eye out for it, as pricing and availability information haven't been released yet.
