We reported last week on LG’s L24 isai smartphone that would go on sale in Japan in the following weeks and we highlighted the extra slim bezel. The L24 isai will be available through major carrier KDDI at some point and it’s unlikely to be released outside Japan.

Today, the folks over at GSMArena caught glimpse of another astonishing smartphone that should hit shelves in Japan in late May, the Sharp AQUOS Xx 304SH. It will go on sale in various color options, including blue, gold, black and red.

Unlike the LG L24 isai, Sharp’s high-end smartphone will go on sale in Japan through major carrier SoftBank Mobile. There’s no word on price tag yet, but if you think that the HTC One (M8) looks stunning, you will find the AQUOS Xx 304SH mind blowing.

The Sharp AQUOS Xx 304SH features a metal-frame body and only weighs 137 grams (battery included). It measures 135 x 72 x 9mm and has a screen-to-body ratio of 79% due to the extra thin bezels.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone comes equipped with a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Moreover, the smartphone packs no less than 32GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot, so users will be able to further expand storage up to 128GB.

For quite a while, it has become standard for high-end smartphones launched in Japan to be water and dust proof and Sharp AQUOS Xx 304SH is no exception. The smartphone is IPX5/IPX7 certified, thus making it dust and water resistant.

When it comes to connectivity, the AQUOS Xx 304SH is an all-rounder. It offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, infrared and NFC (Near Field Communication) connectivity.

On the back, the high-end smartphone boasts a 13-megapixel photo snapper that features LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front, there’s a secondary 2.1-megapixel camera for video calls.

Another strong point of the handset is the stunning 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It is also worth mentioning that Sharp AQUOS Xx 304SH is powered by a decent 2600 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

Don’t get your hopes too high, as Sharp AQUOS Xx 304SH will most likely not be available for purchase outside of Japan. Would you pick this one up if it were available in your country?
